About hackathons from the inside: Samsung IT School presents a new podcast episode 

Samsung IT School continues a series of video podcasts. The new episode is dedicated to hackathons, the most popular format of team competitions in the IT world.

The curator of the Samsung IT School, Andrey Limasov, and IT School graduates discussed how the hackathon took place within the framework of Samsung Android Bootcamp last year, how the participants remembered it, told about the projects presented at the hackathon, shared their impressions of teamwork, and also answered an interesting question: «The hackathon is more work or fun?» You can watch and listen to the new release of the Samsung IT School video podcast on the official YouTube channel.

«Hackathons provide an opportunity for students of our programs to challenge and prove themselves in a team environment. So, within the framework of the Samsung IT School, the traditional Samsung Android Bootcamp 2024 hackathon will be held with immersion in Android development in Java, and within the framework of the Samsung IT Academy. This is the first cross—disciplinary intercollegiate hackathon IT Academy Hack 2024 on the topic of scientific volunteering and ecology, that will be held in the history of the program. In addition to a qualitative leap in knowledge and skills, such events provide an opportunity to meet like—minded people and make new friends, so I urge all students to listen to the new edition of the podcast and actively register for the upcoming hackathons of our programs,» said Sergey Pevnev, Vice President of Samsung Electronics CIS headquarters.

Samsung IT School is a federal program of additional education for the training of future IT specialists for high school students who are interested in IT technologies and have stable knowledge of the school computer science and mathematics course. Enrollment in the Samsung IT School is based on the results of two stages: an online selection test and an entrance test in full-time format. As part of the program, students develop mobile applications in the ideology «from idea to distribution» in the Java for the Android.

Since the launch of the Samsung IT School in 2014, 5,356 graduates in Russia and Armenia have completed the annual program with a Samsung certificate, 12% of them with honors. To date, full-time classes at Samsung IT School are held at 46 sites in 38 cities, as well as online.

Admission to the Samsung IT School for the 2024/2025 academic year started on April 1. Applications for admission are accepted until September 8, 2024. Admission is traditionally based on the results of two stages of entrance examinations. The first qualifying stage is an online test that must be completed on the Samsung IT School website by September 8, 2024. The results of the first stage will be available within 2 days. Candidates who have successfully passed the online testing will receive an invitation to the second stage. It will be held in person at all sites of the project from August 19 to September 15, 2024.
