Samsung IT School opened an admission to the academic year 2023/2024

Samsung Innovation Campus has opened an admission to the Samsung IT School for the academic year 2023/2024. High school and college students under the age of 17 are invited to participate in the program. During one academic year, program participants will receive an in-depth knowledge of Java and practical skills of independent development of mobile applications for the Android. Applications for admission will be accepted from April 1 to September 10, 2023.

Admission to the Samsung IT School is based on the results of two rounds of admission tests. The first, qualifying round is an online test to be taken on the Samsung IT School website from April 1 to September 10, 2023. Information about the results will be available within 2 days. Candidates who successfully pass the first round will receive an invitation to the second round. It will be held in-person at all project sites from August 21 to September 17, 2023. Education at the Samsung IT School is free.

«The Samsung IT School supplementary education program for high school students has been operating effectively since 2014, developing as part of the Samsung Innovation Campus. It is very important to us that talented young people have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in information technology, and to learn practical skills of creating mobile applications at the level of junior developer for free. This will give them a good basis and a competitive advantage for further successful development in the profession,» Sergey Pevnev, Vice President of Samsung Electronics CIS headquarters, emphasized the importance of this social and educational initiative.

The IT sphere is one of the most attractive in the job market: the competition among employers for IT specialists is more than three times higher than in other fields. Thanks to Samsung IT School, federal social and educational program, every academic year more than 1500 students get an opportunity to become in-demand specialists. In addition, the annual contest of student projects «IT School Chooses the Strongest!» is included in the List of Olympiads and other intellectual and creative competitions, events aimed at the development of intellectual and creative abilities of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. This allows IT School graduates to get benefits (e.g. extra points) when entering universities.

The video podcast, featuring Samsung IT School alumni and UchimZnaem project leaders, is released on the project’s official YouTube channel. It helps learn more about the Samsung IT School program, potential opportunities and features of a career in mobile development, as well as about the IT industry in general.

Since the launch of the social and educational project in 2014, more than 4,000 graduates have completed the annual program with a Samsung Certificate, 11.3% of them with honors. Currently, Samsung IT School operates at 57 sites in 46 cities of Russia and in Armenia.

Samsung IT School is a partner of the Mobile Development section of the IT-Cube federal project , which creates centers for the development of IT-creation for children and adolescents in the regions of Russia.

The program was twice awarded the national Runet Prize: as a separate project in the Science and Education category and as part of the Samsung Innovation Campus global initiative in the Education and Personnel category.

The social and educational project was a partner of the «Development of Android Mobile Applications section of the Junior, All-Russian Contest of Scientific Works of Schoolchildren. Samsung experts were part of the jury of the Olympiad final, which took place on February 4, 2023 in NRNU MEPhI. Graduates of the Samsung IT School were among the winners of the contest.

For the 2022/2023 school year, Samsung IT School opened several additional groups with online learning. Thanks to this, schoolchildren from regions where it is not possible to attend classes in person can take a training course online.
