Samsung Innovation Campus program wins «Creating the Future» award

The Samsung Innovation Campus program was awarded first place in the Leaders of the Future category of the All-Russian Contest of the Best Practices in the socio-humanitarian sphere «Creating the Future». The Final of the competition and the awarding ceremony took place on November 1-3, 2021 in Moscow.

Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) is a global social and educational program launched as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiative Enabling People. The first country in the world where Samsung Innovation Campus was launched is Russia with the projects «Samsung IT Academy» for students of leading technical universities and «Samsung IT School» for high school students.

«Samsung Innovation Campus unites three projects into one ecosystem of educational programs: Samsung IT School, Samsung IT Academy, and «Galaxy Upcycling — new life of the old smartphone». They are designed for young audiences, students, and schoolchildren. During the period of these projects, more than 7,000 young people received knowledge and practical skills in the most relevant areas of technology: mobile development, Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence,» said Sergey Pevnev, Director of Corporate Citizenship and Government Relations of Samsung Electronics CIS RHQ.

«Thank you very much for such a high appreciation of our efforts within the Samsung Innovation Campus! When we started the project in 2014, we certainly believed in success, and our results prove that this direction was chosen correctly. Today we have several thousand successful graduates and a strong team of teachers throughout Russia. It is especially gratifying when our graduates come back as teachers. It says that what we teach is very valuable for them and now they want to share their knowledge with others,» noted Roman Aynbund, Head of Technology Management Team at the Samsung R&D Institute Russia.

The Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) is currently being implemented in 23 countries around the world. By 2020, about 160,000 students have been trained through Samsung Innovation Campus. The program is aimed at young people between the ages of 18 and 25 and promotes the acquisition of knowledge and professional skills in the IT sphere. This year, SIC plans to educate more than 30,000 students in 28 countries. Currently, Samsung specialists are also working on the launch of a training program in Big Data, which will be available from 2022.

The annual All-Russian Contest «Creating the Future» currently supported by the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation has been held since 2014 and celebrates the best practices of employers in working with Russia’s human resources potential. Over 6 years, the contest has become an authoritative platform for identifying and recognizing the most successful practices and approaches of Russia’s largest employers to work with socially significant issues at the regional, federal and global levels. Since 2019 the contest has expanded its thematic focus and collects the best practices of Russian business in education and career guidance, culture, sports and tourism, as well as other socially important areas.

Previously, in 2014 and 2018, Samsung’s educational projects won awards at the «Creating the Future» contest in various categories, including «Social Lift,» marking the best systemic opportunities for career development, talent management technology and the formation of soft skills.
